David Valadao and the Republican-led Congress allow Trump to rip families apart at the US border

SELMA — The Trump administration has doubled down on its cruel policy of separating innocent children from their families at the US southern border. Yesterday, while members of Congress visited the San Ysidro point of entry to shed light on the unfolding crisis, David Valadao was fundraising with Ivanka Trump rather than addressing this pressing concern for the Central Valley. Small businessman TJ Cox released the following statement:
“Our country has a responsibility to protect our borders and uphold the law; this includes moral law. David Valadao and House Republicans have forgotten about our ethical obligations. They are sitting on the sidelines, allowing this administration to use children as a bargaining chip to build Trump’s wall.

“Congress must stand up to Trump and pass a bipartisan immigration bill that ends family separation, protects Dreamers, and offers realistic avenues to citizenship for those here working hard, paying taxes and contributing to the rich diversity of our nation.
