Bill that would provide $200 million for the Friant-Kern Canal Passes House

Legislation that would provide $200 million for much needed repairs to the Friant-Kern Canal has moved one more step to becoming reality.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed the Moving Forward Act, a $1.5 trillion package to fund infrastructure needs in the country. The Senate still needs to pass the legislation and then it needs to be signed by President Trump for it to become law.

Cox Tackles Internet, Veterans, Water Needs

WASHINGTON – Representative TJ Cox (CA-21) joined House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, members of the House Rural Broadband Taskforce and House Democrats to introduce the Accessible, Affordable Internet for All Act.

If successful, the Act would invest $100 billion to build high-speed broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved communities to ensure that the resulting internet service is affordable.

Rep. TJ Cox Water Bills pass in the Moving Forward Act

On Wednesday, Rep. TJ Cox voted to pass the Moving Forward Act which approves legislation that will provide funding to the Central Valley to rebuild water infrastructure.

TJ Cox introduced two pieces of legislation that would give funds for technical support for clean drinking water for low-income towns currently dealing with dirty water. The other bill will repair the Friant-Kern Canal.
