Ad highlights Cox’s record on health care, including working to lower Rx prices
August 25, 2020
Today, TJ Cox for Congress, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) launched a new television ad, “Affordable.” The ad highlights Cox’s career building community health centers and his fight to expand health care access and lower costs for the Central Valley, while contrasting David Valadao’s devastating record as a “yes man” for Donald Trump.
It will air on broadcast in the Fresno and Bakersfield markets and streaming online throughout California’s 21st Congressional District.
- Cox’s previous business, Central Valley New Market Tax Credit, financed the construction of 4 community health centers in CA-21, including Mendota, Parlier, Selma, Sanger, and Fowler.
- TJ Cox voted for H.R. 3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act
- David Valadao voted for the disastrous 2017 Trump Tax bill, which cut taxes for corporations and millionaires and billionaires
- Cox highlighted the unchecked increase in diabetic insulin in a November 2019 report
The ad:
COX: “I’m proud to have built community health clinics across the Valley to help make care more affordable. It’s why I took on the drug companies to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
VO: “But David Valadao was a ‘Yes Man’ for Trump. Trump and Valadao gave the drug companies billions in tax breaks – while letting them jack up prices. That’s just wrong.
COX: “I’m TJ Cox and I approve this message because it’s time Washington worked for us.”
TJ Cox is running for reelection to Congress in California’s 21st District. He is a family man, engineer and small businessman with a passion for community development. TJ is married to Kathleen Murphy, MD, a pediatric intensive care physician. They are the proud parents of four children.
